Lewis Hamilton has insisted that Ferrari remains united and positive, despite what proved to be a difficult first season for him at the team.
The seven-time world champion’s much-anticipated switch to the Scuderia fell short of expectations, with Hamilton ending the year sixth in the drivers’ championship and failing to secure a grand prix podium for the first time in his Formula One career.
Although he managed to claim victory in the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint, Ferrari’s early decision to halt car development in April — in order to prioritise preparations for the major regulation changes arriving in 2026 — meant the team gradually lost ground to its competitors.
Even so, Hamilton remains fully committed to helping Ferrari return to title-contending form. Reflecting on the atmosphere at the team’s factory after a disappointing 2025 campaign, he highlighted the collective mindset following a dramatic drop in competitiveness, with Ferrari falling from just 14 points behind champions McLaren in 2024 to 435 points adrift the following season.
“I never compare Ferrari to any other team because it is completely unique,” Hamilton told reporters, including RacingNews365.
He added that every visit to the factory continues to motivate him, describing the experience as deeply inspiring and emotionally powerful.
“There’s something special and romantic about Ferrari — the history, the brand — and despite the challenges we’ve faced, there’s a real sense of harmony within the team,” he said.
Hamilton explained that everyone at Ferrari is fully focused on learning from the struggles of 2025 and using those lessons to build a stronger future, a mindset that continues to encourage him.
While acknowledging that improvements are still required, he stressed that the team is aware of its weaknesses and actively working to address them as they prepare for the next chapter.
