In a groundbreaking collaboration for both clubs, five-time Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund and six-time Super Bowl winners the Pittsburgh Steelers are strengthening a bond that goes beyond their shared black-and-yellow colors.

“As we considered expanding BVB’s presence in the U.S., the Steelers stood out as the perfect partner due to their remarkable achievements on the field and their strong legacy off it. They embody resilience and a deep connection to the Pittsburgh community – just as BVB does in Dortmund. We’re thrilled to launch this collaborative effort worldwide, with fans at the heart of it all.”

To kick off the partnership, Dortmund recently welcomed a Steelers delegation, including two-time Pro Bowler Miles Killebrew, who experienced the electric atmosphere of Signal Iduna Park and the iconic Yellow Wall during a matchday defeat to Augsburg.

“I was amazed by my time at Dortmund,” Killebrew said. His visit followed one made by former BVB player and devoted Steelers supporter Patrick Owomoyela in December.

“From the moment we stepped into Signal Iduna Park, it was clear how unique BVB is. The energy of the Yellow Wall, the fans, the whole experience—it was unforgettable. I can’t wait to return, and I’m excited to see how this partnership evolves.”

This alliance has already sparked cross-continental business cooperation, and plans are in motion for the first-ever flag football clinic in Germany—set for mid-April at the BVB Football Academy and featuring a Steelers player.

“This historic partnership with Borussia Dortmund aligns with the Steelers’ values and deep ties to our community,” said Dan Rooney, Director of Business Development and Strategy for the Steelers. “Both clubs share industrial roots and a culture of hard work, perseverance, and a winning mentality. We’re eager to explore new opportunities together, grow our fanbases in fresh markets, and shine a spotlight on our cities around the world.”
