The Las Vegas Raiders made some valuable additions in the draft, particularly players who could make an immediate impact as rookies. Wide receiver Jack Bech was a personal favorite in this year’s draft, and he fills a key need on the roster. Bech could start alongside Jakobi Meyers, giving quarterback Geno Smith another offensive weapon.
There’s also a chance that rookie cornerback Darien Porter sees playing time early due to the team’s thin depth at that position.
These new additions alone should significantly improve the Raiders in 2025, but the roster still needs more work. Las Vegas shouldn’t feel satisfied just yet. While they’ve taken big steps forward, a few areas still need upgrades. This team is in a great position to bring in experienced veterans who can contribute right away.
So, who should they target next?
Here are three important moves the Raiders should consider post-2025 NFL Draft:
1. Sign a veteran wide receiver to complete the starting group
Wide receiver remains a pressing need. Even with Davante Adams, depth at the position would still be an issue.
A few weeks ago, Tyler Lockett seemed like an ideal veteran addition, but he signed with the Titans just before the draft. It’s surprising he didn’t reunite with his former coach in Vegas.
Still, there are other experienced receivers available who could help the team.
At the top of the list is Amari Cooper—a familiar name to Raiders fans. Cooper, originally drafted by the Raiders in 2015, is a free agent after spending last season with the Browns and Bills. Though no longer a top-tier WR1, he’s still productive and could step in as a starter immediately. In 2024, he caught 44 passes for 547 yards and four touchdowns.
Keenan Allen is another strong candidate. He’s versatile but most effective from the slot. While he might have a similar role to Bech, Allen’s talent and experience would still make him a valuable addition and mentor to the rookie.
It would be surprising if the Raiders didn’t continue addressing the receiver position before training camp.
2. Add another running back to complement Ashton Jeanty
The Raiders landed a true starting-caliber back in first-round pick Ashton Jeanty, but they could still benefit from pairing him with another capable runner.
