Report Confirms Miami Heat’s Interest in Kevin Durant
NBA reporter Marc Stein has confirmed ongoing rumors that the Miami Heat are eyeing two-time champion Kevin Durant as a trade target this offseason. Following Pat Riley’s recent press conference, speculation around Durant heading to Miami has intensified. Stein mentioned in his Substack newsletter that Miami, along with Minnesota, is expected to pursue the veteran forward after their disappointing 37–45 season and first-round playoff sweep by the Cavaliers.
Durant, who averaged 26.6 points at age 36, reportedly has one year left on his contract, and league sources suggest his time in Phoenix is likely over. Although the Heat and Suns previously discussed a trade involving Jimmy Butler, no deal was reached. Since then, the Suns have missed the Play-In Tournament and
brought in a new, inexperienced GM, replacing former Heat player James Jones. Meanwhile, the Heat are reevaluating their roster after an early playoff exit.
