The Ohio State Buckeyes, led by head coach Ryan Day, have consistently ranked among the top recruiting programs in the country in recent years, regularly landing top-five recruiting classes. Looking ahead to the 2026 cycle, they’re once again pushing hard to bring in elite talent.
One notable prospect on their radar is four-star running back Carsyn Baker from Fairburn, Georgia. Baker is drawing attention from numerous top programs, but Ohio State appears to be leading the race for his commitment.
According to Steve Wiltfong of On3 Sports, the Buckeyes have an 82.4% chance of securing Baker, with Clemson trailing at just 3.1%. Per 247 Sports, Baker is the No. 17 running back in the 2026 class, ranked No. 218 nationally, and No. 26 in Georgia. Other schools in pursuit include South Carolina, Texas A&M, Florida State, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Penn State, among many others.
At 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, Baker brings a powerful and physical running style. In the 2024 high school season, he racked up 1,281 yards and 13 touchdowns on 145 carries. Ohio State has a strong history of producing top-tier running backs—most recently TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, both expected to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Adding Baker could continue that legacy. While there’s no set date for his commitment, Ohio State appears to be in an excellent position right now.
